House to rent, small village, close to beaches

Traditional village, 2 annexed houses, sharing a  large pool

Estimated to have been built 2 centuries ago by a rich landowner, this is the place where had the main storehouse for all the agricultural products of his lands. The building has been restored recently and transformed to house with respectful taste, keeping all elements of the past.

The house Dream 2:
A large living room with sofa and chairs, a double bed in the corner. and an open loft with another double bed.
Next is a kitchen fully furnished with oven, cooker,boiler,coffee machine, and a dinner table for 4 persons.
SATELITE TV,  INTERNET Wi-Fi, PARKING outside.
The kitchen exits to terrace where there is a table and chairs for 4 persons, and a large pool 80 m. with sunbeds, parasols, shower.

Outdoor area:
Pool to share with annexed house. διμενσιονσ 60sqmx1.70m
Every house has its own separate entrance, and outdoor area.

Surrounding area:
Douliana is a quiet traditional village, West of the island, 30 kms from International Airport CHQ, only 22 km. the city of Chania, close to many beaches.
This village (among 300 of all for Greece) was awarded the title of National preservation place NATURA , keeping agriculture as a major activity as always has be. Several of the old houses have been restored and traditional farming around gives the note according to seasons.

There are two tavernas with Cretan traditional cuisine, and a mini market with local products.
From here you walk or drive to sandy beaches of Almirida and Kalives (3-4 kms), through a magnificent olive and cypress forest, or call a taxi although hire car is recommended.
In these villages are also shopping, ATM, rent a car, general amenities, Water sports.

The swimming pool is ideal for children and the early mornings were delicious. The owner is kind enough to provide a nice breakfast. Its location a few kilometers from the beaches avoids crowds and noise and provides the pleasure of a cooler breeze in the evening.

The village is pretty, well located for visiting Chania and less than 5 kms from the sea.

Note: a tavern at the end of the village with a nice terrace, a charming welcome and a good kitchen and hearty plates; you walk through the alleys. A nice little bar within 50 meters of the house.

The car is however necessary because the shops (supermarket in particular) are located at the seaside. A small business in the village but closed during our stay. Polished Efkaristo Kostoula 🙂
