Kamares in Greek , are the stone Arches covering at the past the whole factory of olive oil pressure mills , and the enormous size cistern in the yard was collecting all water.
Carefully restored with great respect for its heritage , the estate has been transformed into a distinctive guesthouse that blends authenticity, comfort, and an environmentally conscious philosophy.

Location : Located in the Apokoronas region, 23 km southeast of Chania town and International airport CHQ, and 7 km inland from the popular beaches of Kalyves.where are all kinds of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, Atm. At 1 km from the property, are minimarket,restaurants, gas station, and a pharmacy.

Description : Two Bedroom apartment (2-4 persons)

With private entrance outside of the property , the apartment has living room, kitchenette, fireplace, sofa , bathroom with shower. One bedroom with double bed and one bedroom with twin beds, have covered veranda with unlimited view.
The living room exit in a private large terrace with view full of plants and trees.
Visitors are given information on a daily basis about shopping, restaurants, museums, gorges, pathways, beaches, local feasts, the cultural events of the Municipalities of Chania and of Rethymno, and about the customs of the area.
Lending library: lends novels, travel and historical books, books on the fauna and flora, guides and maps.
Swimming pool: available 24 hours a day.
Full breakfast can be served at request
Cleaning: three times a week.
Linen: Echange of bed sheets and towels twice a week.
Kitchens: All suites are provided with a small kitchen for elementory cooking and fridge.
Gardens: Fruits of the fruit trees of Kamares are offered to the guests. In spring, there are plenty of mulberries, greengages, oranges, lemons, apricots and almonds. In the summer, there are medlars, plums, figs, grapes, water melons and melons.
Breakfast table : At your arrival , hand-made baskets containing seasonal vegetables like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, eggplants, beans are laid on the table

The apartments have been lovingly restored from old Cretan buildings by our host Kostas and his family. Our apartment was on two levels with a large verandah looking out to the mountains and the coast.

On arrival we found a generous collection of food and wine for us – olive oil, olives, tomatoes, coffee, a variety of fruit, yogurt, milk, butter, cheese, home made jams, fruit juice juice, home made lemon squash, bread, eggs and biscuits.

The family produce their own olive oil, fruit, vegetables, herbs and make jams and preserves and juices. The apartments – we looked at a few others – are simply furnished and feature wooden beams and attractive windows and pleasant and comfortable soft furnishings. Linen and towels are changed twice a week and rubbish removed daily.

We made our own breakfasts and evening meals, using local fresh ingredients but an excellent breakfast is available and includes fresh fruit and juice, yogurt and cream cheese, very good bread and those delicious jams, even eggs, under the mulberry trees looking across to the mountains through Kostas’ lovingly cared for plants.

Absolutely loved staying here. The building is beautiful, the apartments well equipped and the hosts went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome. The view from the pool was stunning. If you stay here, take the homemade breakfast option – just lovely. Definitely recommended.
